I’ve just received an e-mail from an independent film-maker who informs me that he has just finished filming a feature-length movie inspired by Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings. Knowing that visitors to this site are likely to be interested, I’m posting the relevant part of his e-mail and the link to the film trailer:

“I’m an independent filmmaker. I’ve mostly done short films, but I, along with my partners, are finishing our first feature-length film this fall. It’s a family-friendly comedy inspired by Tolkien called The Fellows Hip. It’s about four online gaming geeks who go on a quest to right a wrong and have Lord of the Rings-like adventures along the way. It’s more homage to than parody of things inspired by Tolkien.

“I don’t know if you’re familiar with Lord of the Rings Online, but that is the game the kids in the film play. We have a loose partnership with that company, and Middle-Earth Enterprises reviewed and approved our script. Anyway, here is a link to our current trailer on YouTube, http://youtu.be/kUgQhp1RoLU.”
