I’m delighted to see that the Catholic Courses, recently launched by St. Benedict Press and of which I am executive director, have received great coverage in the National Catholic Register. Here’s the link: http://www.ncregister.com/site/article/catholic-wisdom-presented-with-flair/
This is seriously good news and I want it (despite some equally serious bone-picking with St. Benedict’s Press).
I’m especially intrigued by:
‘Or how about a course called “Seven Myths About the Catholic Church and Science”? When you buy it, you will “Get the Real Story About Galileo, Evolution, the Big Bang Theory, Aliens and More!”‘
What are the arguments (if any) that prove that aliens do or do not exist? I would tend to think that they do not but my argumentation is a bit tenuous:
1. Everything that will concern us in this life and the next has already been made known to us by Revelation.
2. Revelation makes no mention of non-human, intelligent organic beings.
3. Hence we will have no knowledge or dealings with such beings in this world or the next.
4. But in the next world we will know everything in God.
5. Therefore these beings do not exist.
