I’ll be discussing my new book, Through Shakespeare’s Eyes: Seeing the Catholic Presence in the Plays, with Raymond Arroyo on EWTN’s World Over Live this Friday evening at 8pm. Raymond is very knowledgeable of the Bard and his work, and has acted in several of his plays. As such, I expect a lively and engaging conversation with him.
I’ll be travelling to the EWTN studio from the Dulles Expo Center where I’m giving a couple of talks at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic homeschool conference. If you’re able to attend, it would be good to see you. Here are the details:
Date: June 11 & 12

Dear Mr. Pearce,
I saw you on Raymond Arroyo, and I was wondering about Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.” I watched the movie years ago while at the Eucharistic Congress, from my hotel room. I wanted to pray but was exhausted so I decided it would be better to relax with a movie. To my surprise, “The Taming of the Shrew” turned out to be a spiritual meditation for me on “The Transformation of a Christian.” What are your thoughts?
He is good. He is also editor of the Ignatius Critical Editions, a tradition-oriented alternative to popular textbook series such as the Norton Critical Editions or Oxford World Classics, designed to concentrate on traditional readings of the Classics of world literature.
Good interview and Raymond was well prepared. I’ve read a few of your books and will probably delve into the Shakespeare. You’re doing a great service to us. I especially liked Literary Converts and read several books by previously unknown authors (Robert Hughes – Come Rack, Come Rope).
I presume you took off on Shakespeare from the PBS special on him several year as ago. By the way, have you heard of this new play called Equivocation which basically supports this same idea about Shakespeare and revolves around the Gunpowder Plot and eventually leads to MacBeth being written? It premiered last year in Ashland, Oregon and was picked up in Los Angeles before the year was out. Very good and wasn’t anti-Catholic as I had anticipated.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi,
My 60-day Norton free trial subscription is coming to an end and I am going to switch to Avira and Spybot. However, I want to make sure my Norton protection system will not interfere with Avira or Spybot in the future. I want to completely turn off my Norton protection software without uninstalling the program. How do I do this? Thanks in advance!Pc Checkup
hi,really very informative.thanks for the post.I always prefer to read the quality content.thanks for your hard work.
Well, the info your share here is great and informative to me as I am very new to the subject. But I love reading and getting some more knowledge on it. Thanks
Raymond Arroyo is the best. His programs on EWTN are informative and always Catholic. For years he brought Pope John Paul II into our living rooms and educated us about the Papacy and the Country the Pope might be visiting. And when he had Fr.Richard John Neuhaus (the late) mcing with him, we were all in for a double treat. It was a college course in Catholciism.
When I see Raymond Arroya on a program, I light up remembering the many hours I listened to him talk about a subject that we needed to be educated about.
And how can I/we forget the hours we spent as he & Fr. Neuhaus kept vigil before our Pope John Paul died and thru the many hours of the wake and than the funeral. We all wanted to be there and they took us to places and closeups that we would never have seen. Many times we joined the mourners in the St. Peters Square with tears streaming and we knew the heart-break that these two men were experiencing as they reported to us.
Thank you Raymond for the marvelous job you do for the Lord, Mother and EWTN. Janice
