The routinely brilliant Anthony Esolen has written this damning indictment of modern America in today’s Crisis. It makes sense of the massacre of the innocents in New England and makes for uncomfortable reading for the propagators and propagandists of the culture of death. Unfortunately few of them will read it or heed its warnings.

That was excellent!! It still hurts me to think Obama actually won this election.
By the way I keep waiting for the complete Divine Comedy lectures from Mr. Esolen to come out. The last time I checked only The Inferno was out for sale. I do intend to spend a good part of my 2013 reading time with Dante’s work. I wanted all three available as I read through.
Disgusting, yet true.
A very well-written piece, examining the state of our culture today. Though I wasn’t big on Mr. Esolen calling the Connecticut murder’s life “disgusting and miserable”- or something like that- after all, though what he did was wrong, and I do not think we should excuse his behavior, he is a person, after all, and had any one of us been born into his situation, who’s to say we would not have ended up the same way?
May God forgive this country…
