Harry Potter: Friend or Foe

I thought my brief reply to an e-mail inquiring about the rights and wrongs of the Harry Potter books might interest visitors to this site:

The two books that I would recommend, which give the most eloquent case for and against Harry Potter, are Harry Potter and the Paganization of Culture by Michael D. O’Brien (Fides et Traditio Publishers) and The Order of Harry Potter by Colin Manlove (Winged Lion Press). The former gives the case for the prosecution, the latter a balanced case for the defence.

Becareful with the O’Brien anti-potter books though, I have heard them been called ‘fundamentally dishonest’ before. Just ask Sean P. Daily of the American Chesterton Society.
