After a gruelling week of lectures, talks and meetings I fly home from Chile today on an overnight flight. Apart from the twenty hours in the classroom teaching a course on Tolkien at the Universidad Gabriela Mistral, I have spoken to around 600 schoolchildren about The Hobbit and to a gathering of university professors and high school principals on “the quest for a true education”. In addition, I´ve had a number of fruitful meetings with Chilean academics working to build authentic Catholic education in this part of the world. And, of course, I´ve enjoyed great food and wine in the company of my Chilean friends.

It will be good to return home to my wonderful wife and children, taking with me many memories and blessings. Deo gratias!
