Last week I presented a paper on “Chesterton on the Meaning of Progress” as part of a conference at Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Tomorrow (Friday) I am giving a talk entitled “Eating Well: The Ethics of Food” at the University of Scranton, also in Pennsylvania. The talk is in the evening and I’m also taking part in a panel discussion in the afternoon. Well an ethic in food industry would be something like if you were saying the meat you provide is halal when actually it is not. that is ethically wrong because people have took your word for it and have trusted you when you say it is halal and if it turned out the meat is not halal and you knew it was not halal, that is ethically wrong. Same for vegetarians, if you give them something which you say is suitable for vegetarians when you know actually it’s not, then that is ethically wrong too.
