I am extremely gratified to have been sent the link to a positive review of my book,Shakespeare on Love, by Enrique Garcia-Máiquez, the Spanish translator (with Aurora Rice) of my previous Shakespearean tome, Through Shakespeare’s Eyes, and the translator (also with Aurora Rice) of the first ever Spanish edition of the play Sir Thomas More by Shakespeare and others, for which I was honoured to write the preface.
Here’s Mr. Garcia-Máiquez’s e-mail to me, containing the link to the review:
I am writing to you to you to let you know how much I enjoyed your last book. It was, as ever, wonderfully written, with a more of a novel rhythm than an essay. Moreover, the thesis is most interesting and, I think, correct. I have written a review of your book here: http://sumacultural.unir.net/2013072610036/ltimas-noticias-el-antipetrarquismo.
I hope you continue working in the same way on all of Shakespeare’s works. The light you shine upon the plays is priceless.
