Yesterday I received via UPS several copies of my latest book, the revised and updated edition of Solzhenitsyn: A Soul in Exile. Originally published by Harper Collins in the UK and by Baker Books in the USA, the new edition, published by Ignatius Press, contains several important revisions and four new chapters.

The original edition, published in 1999, covered Solzhenitsyn’s life until his eightieth year. Since, however, the great Russian writer and Nobel Prize winner lived for a further nine years, my original book was ipso facto an unfinished work. The new, expanded edition contains additional chapters covering the last years of his life, a period in which he remained very active and in which he continued to cause controversy. It also contains details of an assassination attempt by the KGB, which was not covered in the earlier edition. For more details, please visit www.ignatius.com.
