I’ve just heard from Michael Masny, a producer at EWTN, that the Tolkien Special that I wrote and presented, in collaboration with Kevin O’Brien of the Theater of the Word Incorporated, is now fully edited and scheduled for airing in early April. The hour-long special, which unlocks the Catholicism of The Lord of the Rings, employs the acting skills of O’Brien and his talented troupe of actors, and also original artwork by Jef Murray, artist in residence with StAR. The Tolkien Special is scheduled to be aired at 10pm on April 6; at 1pm on April 8; and at 5am on April 9. Mark your calendars!

This is good news! Jef will surely be right at home. He’s a major artist for the Tolkien Society. And I can’t wait to see what the endlessly versatile Kevin O’Brien will do.
