My colleague at Ave Maria University, Robert McTeigue S.J., gave a truly excellent address at this year’s commencement. I’m delighted to see that Kathryn Lopez of the National Review has highlighted its many merits and salient wisdom, especially about the purpose of a Catholic liberal arts education. Most controversially, Father McTeigue gave the solid reasoning behind the necessity for closed-mindedness, for being judgemental, and for intolerance.
