A note from my friend Christopher Check, director of development at Catholic Answers …
Cari Tutti–
Tomorrow marks the raising of the siege of the Alcazar, Sept 27, 1936.
My friends at Crisis have posted my account of this heroic event including the phone call between Moscardo and his son Luis.
If you do not know the story, you should.
Peace and Good.
Chris
Read the article just the other day (but I got the link from The Remnant Newspaper website) though I’m glad you guys mentioned it here.
A good article, by the always good Mr. Check! The Spanish Civil War is not what you’ve been taught it was. And I’m very glad to see both Check, and other commenters giving out a list of good books to read on the subject.
Viva España!
If anyone is interested in owning his lectures, you can buy them on cd from Angelus Press.
(Seeing as how Angelus Press is the publishing arm of the SSPX, I wonder if that means Mr. Check is a traditionalist himself? If so, then all the more power to him! While I may not be SSPX myself, I do appreciate their efforts to preserve and defend the whole of the Faith, from enemies both within and from without.)
