My good friend, Mitchell Kalpakgian, has an interesting summary in today’s Crisis Magazine of the lessons to be learned form Shakespeare’s King Lear. Although he fails to pay due attention to the Franciscan symbolism of Lear’s stripping himself naked at the point of his conversion (“Off, off, you lendings!”), Dr. Kalpakgian’s insights are certainly worth sharing.
